The Future I'm Building

I never went to school for this.

I taught myself to code. Figured things out by building, breaking, and shipping. No CS degree, no bootcamp certificate, no formal path. Just a deep love for aerospace, space, and the idea that technology should do something real in the world.

That obsession with how things work โ€” engines, systems, trajectories โ€” translated directly into how I build software. Everything has to serve a purpose. If it doesn't solve something, I'm not interested.

Everything I build starts with the same question: what's the most annoying, time-consuming, human-draining part of this problem โ€” and can I just make it disappear? Not AI for the sake of AI. Just tools that do the boring work so people can do the real work.

Here's what I'm building right now

๐Ÿง  Memory for AI

Ground

Active โ€” aliarain.com/ground

AI systems hallucinate because they don't have real memory. They guess. They fill gaps with confidence they haven't earned.

Ground is the memory layer that fixes that. It sits between your data and your reasoning model. It returns versioned, cited context โ€” or it refuses. No guessing. No silent failure. No confident nonsense.

Most teams try to fix AI by changing the model. The real leverage is the layer before it.

๐ŸŽฏ Hiring Infrastructure

SLCT

Just launched โ€” slctapp.com

I spent an entire weekend reading resumes once. 200+ applications. One role. Just me and a spreadsheet at midnight asking myself why I was doing this manually.

SLCT is what I built so no founder ever has to do that again.

Post a job. Candidates apply. AI reads every resume the moment it lands โ€” fit score, strengths, red flags, hire recommendation. Instantly. Then you swipe through your shortlist in minutes. You can also search your entire candidate pool in plain English. Like actually type "scrappy engineer, early stage, no corporate background" and just find them.

Built for founders who are serious about the hire but refuse to become full-time recruiters.

โœˆ๏ธ Travel & Experiences

Chalogee

Active โ€” chalogee.com

Tourism is one of the most fragmented industries on earth. Finding authentic local experiences still happens through WhatsApp groups and word of mouth.

Chalogee is a marketplace that connects travellers with real, vetted local experiences. Not the tourist trap version. The actual one.

โœ๏ธ Writing Tools

NovaWriter

Active โ€” nova.aliarain.com

A Mac-native markdown writing assistant. Clean, fast, AI-powered. Built because every other writing tool is either too heavy or too dumb.

NotchPrompt

Active โ€” notch.aliarain.com

An invisible teleprompter that lives in the MacBook notch. Read your script. Keep eye contact. Nobody knows.

The Honest Picture

I'm a one-person team shipping multiple products at once from Pakistan. No VC money yet โ€” actively applying. No big team. Just a calm stack, fast iteration, and a genuine obsession with solving real problems.

I build in public because it keeps me accountable and because I think more builders from this part of the world should be doing it loudly.

Ship, learn, adapt, repeat.
